Artist’s Note: Captured at sunset after three long days of hunting pheasants with my brothers-in-law, this view greeted us as we began to head home for the night. This version has had only one Nik Software filter applied: Cross-Process C04, which deepened the blues and made the orange more vibrant in what I considered to be a very pleasant way. The air in truth was rather hazy and smoky due to the burning of a recently-harvested corn-field, which also contributed significantly the vibrancy of colors in the lower atmosphere. |

Artist’s Note: Sometimes, focusing on only a portion of the clouds above my head makes a more striking image than a wide-angle review of the entire skyline. This particular digitograph required some careful maneuvering to capture from a cow pasture. Another example of my black-and-white layering technique to enhance the focal point of the image, this is also representative of the maximum amount of time spent in experimentation to arrive at one version. It was edited across three separate versions of PhotoShop. |
