I went to a local BBQ joint near me with live music every night. Heard a
great 3-piece blues band. What stuck out with me was the bass player -
he had an old fender bass, but the head looked different, and it had 1
    pickup.

I chatted up the bass player during the break - he was playing a 1957
Fender P bass. He bought it in 1972, hadn't done a thing to it. Sounded
pretty good for being an almost 70 year old bass. Looking online, it's
similar to the beat-up bass Sting played in The Police.

He told me his upright bass was almost 200 years old!

Wow, that thing must be worth a fortune. I guess playing bass probably isn't this dude's day job if he can afford to hold on to that :P
